Description of training program:

Study programs with a master's degree in international studies in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe - a two-year (four semesters) multi- and interdisciplinary two-diploma program.


It is designed for students wishing to pursue a career in politics, the business world, diplomacy, international organizations and the media, or as preparation for further study in doctoral studies. Graduates of this program will gain the ability to deal with a myriad of socio-economic and political problems or security problems of the 21st century in one or more critical geopolitical regions of the European Union and its neighboring countries or in neighboring countries, such as Central Asia, the Caucasus or the Caspian seas; Russia; and Central and Eastern Europe, including the Baltic Sea region.

The flexible and high-quality language training is a major part of the training program. This innovative curriculum taught in English, and offers international experience in at least two countries, prepares professionals and help you to get acquainted with a number of key job search skills through a well-developed employment with the help of associated partners from business, public policy, community NGOs. Many academic conferences, seminars and other socio-cultural activities, involving all the partners of the consortium to enrich the experience of study programs with a degree of international master in the study of Russia, Central and Eastern Europe really worth in terms of establishing long-term friendly relations and your preparation for the future professional career.

We are an international consortium of five European universities and 6 non-European universities, as well as other non-educational partners. During the first year all students are trained at the University of Glasgow. In the second year, students will go to study in one of the partner universities (the list is given below), where they will take one or more of the following specialized courses: "Study of Central Asia"; "Studies of the Caucasus or the Caspian Sea"; "Investigation of the Baltic Sea Region"; "Study of the Soviet and post-Soviet space" and "Study of Central Europe" in the 1st semester and complete the writing of the thesis in the 2nd semester. Also possible to conduct dissertation research in one of the partner universities of the consortium: Nizhny Novgorod State University. NI Novgorod (Nizhny Novgorod, Russia), University of Western Ontario (London, Canada), the National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" (Ukraine), the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (Baku, Azerbaijan), Ilia State University (Georgia) .

Graduates will receive a degree of international master in the study of Russia, Central and Eastern Europe from the University of Glasgow and one of the following degrees, depending on the choice of partner academic mobility in the 2nd year of study: Master of Arts in Political Science (Hungary), Master of Arts the exploration of Europe (Poland), Master of Arts in Social Sciences (Research Baltic Sea, Estonia), Master of Arts in the field of research of the Baltic Sea (Finland), Master of International Relations (Kazakhstan).
